A 62-year-old man who was shot while sitting in his vehicle at a stop sign in the Englewood neighborhood Friday night was among two men fatally wounded overnight, Chicago police said.
Shortly after 11 p.m. Friday, the victim was at a stop sign in the 800 block of West 71st Street when shots were fired and he was struck in the head. He was taken in critical condition to the University of Chicago Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.
The latest fatal shooting happened around 5:15 a.m. Saturday on the West Side in the Lawndale neighborhood, police said.
A 19-year-old man was discovered outside in the 3900 block of West Fillmore Street with a gunshot wound to the chest. He was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
As of Saturday morning, neither of the victims were identified.
No one was in custody for either of the deadly shootings, and detectives were investigating.
