Three people who were shot ran into a beauty supply store for help Thursday afternoon in the city’s West Englewood neighborhood on the South Side, said a witness and officials.

A staffer who answered the phone at Garfield Beauty Supply, 1616 W. 63rd st. said two guys and a woman ran into the store saying they were shot. “They just asked for help,” said the worker, who didn’t want his name used.

Several people inside the store, which remained closed, helped put pressure on their wounds, the staffer said.

One of the victims is age 15 or younger and was taken to Comer Children’s Hospital, said Larry Langford, a spokesperson for the Chicago Fire Department. The other person shot was also taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center.

At about 2 p.m. a bullet-ridden SUV that had blood inside of it and smashed-up windows remained at the entrance to a parking lot.

Langford earlier said there were two people shot.
